Amazon employees seek pay for security checks

Amazon employees seek pay for security checks .
A group of employees for online book retailer Amazon have sued the company contending they should be paid for off-the-clock theft and security checks.

The employees filed suit in U.S. District Court in Nashville, saying they aren't paid for the time it takes to go through security before and after their shifts.
Attorney David Garrison told The Daily News Journal (http://on.dnj.com/15cDbtp ) that workers go through a 20-to-30 minute security check off the clock. Garrison said the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that an Amazon location in Nevada had to pay workers for time consumed by the anti-theft check.
Amazon spokeswoman Kelly Cheeseman declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Two similar lawsuits have been filed against Amazon in federal court in Louisville, Ky.
